Hockey’s ‘Ostad Fazlu’ no more

Veteran hockey coach Fazlul Haque, known as Ostad Fazlul, passed away in Dhaka following a fall at home. He was declared dead at Sir Salimullah Medical College Hospital. Fazlul, who transitioned from player to coach due to an injury, was instrumental in developing young hockey talent at Armanitola High School since the early ’90s. He mentored several notable Bangladesh players, including Rafikul Islam Kamal and Rasel Mahmud Jimmy. Fazlul is survived by his wife and daughter. His funeral will be held at Tara Masjid, with burial at Shaheb Bazar.READ FULL
