India pressured US to ease its stance on Hasina before ouster

India had urged the US to ease pressure on former Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina, citing security concerns. The US reduced criticism and sanctions against Hasina’s government before the January election. However, mass protests led to Hasina’s resignation and flight to India on August 5.
