Jamalpur’s unused bridge awaits approach road

A 96-meter-long bridge over the Fatika canal in Jamalpur’s Islampur, constructed at a cost of over Tk 5.68 crore, remains unused over a year after its inauguration due to the absence of an approach road. Locals allege that despite the inauguration by the Religious Affairs Minister in January 2023, the bridge lacks a connecting road on the west side, forcing people to use a muddy path to cross the canal.
