Law doesn’t permit sending Khaleda abroad for treatment: law minister

Law Minister Anisul Huq stated that there is no legal provision to send BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia abroad for treatment. He mentioned that Khaleda Zia’s jail sentence was suspended under an executive order based on humanitarian grounds, but this does not allow for her to leave the country. The minister also noted that a process has been initiated to place a pacemaker for Khaleda Zia’s cardiovascular treatment, and no application for foreign treatment has been received.
