Malawi vice president, nine others killed in plane crash

Malawi’s Vice President Saulos Chilima and nine others were killed in a plane crash, President Lazarus Chakwera confirmed after search teams located the wreckage in a foggy forest. The military plane went missing on Monday after being diverted due to bad weather. Chilima, 51, was widely loved and had recently resumed duties after graft charges against him were dropped. Chakwera described Chilima as a “patriotic citizen who served with distinction.”
