Manju released hours after detention

Former lawmaker Anwar Hossain Manju, Chairman of Jatiya Party (Manju), was detained by detectives in Dhaka’s Dhanmondi area for questioning. He was held for about 4.5 hours before being released around 8:00pm. The reason for his interrogation remains unclear. Manju had unsuccessfully contested in the recent 12th parliamentary election held on January 7. The detention was confirmed by a DB joint commissioner. READ FULL
