Masrur Reaz made BSEC chairman

M Masrur Reaz, an economist and founder of Policy Exchange Bangladesh, has been appointed chairman of the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission for four years. He replaces Prof Shibli Rubayat-ul Islam, who resigned after the Awami League government’s fall. Reaz, a former World Bank economist, aims to clean up corruption in the stock market and improve governance. He has extensive experience in public policy advisory and global institutional engagement.
