Moonshine death toll in Tamil Nadu climbs to 47

A hooch tragedy in Tamil Nadu’s Kallakurichi district has claimed 47 lives, with 30 more in critical condition. Out of 165 people admitted to hospitals after consuming spurious liquor, 118 are still undergoing treatment. The district administration has formed special teams to prevent illicit liquor sales and is conducting door-to-door surveys in affected areas. Officials have urged those who consumed the illegal alcohol to seek immediate medical attention to prevent further casualties. Source NDTV
