Over 1,000 arrested following UK disorder

UK police have arrested over 1,000 people in connection with recent riots across England and Northern Ireland, following the stabbing death of three girls on July 29. At least 575 have been charged. The unrest, fueled by far-right misinformation about the alleged perpetrator’s identity, has led to swift judicial action. Among those in court was a 13-year-old girl who admitted to threatening violence, and a man who pleaded guilty to attacking police, a car with Romanian occupants, and looting stores. AFP
