Perfect’ Marchand emulates Phelps with fourth gold

French swimmer Leon Marchand won his fourth gold medal at the Paris Olympics in the 200m individual medley, becoming the first male swimmer since Michael Phelps to achieve this feat. He set an Olympic record with a time of 1:54.06. Marchand, trained by Phelps’ former coach Bob Bowman, called it a “perfect week” and is already looking forward to the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.
