Power outage hits rural areas
Bangladesh is facing frequent power cuts due to insufficient electricity production, especially in rural areas. The country’s power generation is falling short by about 1,500MW daily. Key issues include technical problems at coal-based plants, gas shortages, and delayed LNG regasification capacity. Several power plants are idle due to fuel shortages or maintenance. The Adani Power Plant in India and the Matarbari plant in Bangladesh have also reduced output due to technical issues. the daily star
