Public university teachers to continue work abstention

By Redoy K

Public university teachers in Bangladesh continue work abstention and sit-ins, demanding the scrapping of the Universal Pension Scheme ‘Prottoy’. Despite a meeting with Minister Obaidul Quader, who claimed misunderstandings were resolved, the Federation of Bangladesh University Teachers’ Association maintains their stance. The protests, which began on July 1, will persist until their three-point demands are met, including the cancellation of the pension scheme.Source:Jagonews
