Putin reappoints Mishustin as Russia’s PM

By Redoy K

Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed reappointing Mikhail Mishustin as Prime Minister, signaling stability in his government amid the Ukraine war and Western sanctions. Mishustin, a technocrat with no political ambitions, has helped keep the Russian economy afloat despite sanctions. With virtually no opposition in parliament, Mishustin’s approval is almost certain. Putin is expected to retain key ministers like Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu and Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, sending a message of continuity in his team’s approach at home and abroad.
