Quota reform movement: Nahid, 2 other coordinators in DB custody

By Redoy K

Three coordinators of Bangladesh’s quota reform movement – Nahid Islam, Asif Mahmud, and Abu Baker – were taken into custody by the Detective Branch (DB) of police from Gonoshasthaya Nagar Hospital in Dhaka. The students, who had been receiving treatment following alleged abductions and releases earlier, were forcibly removed from the hospital by plainclothes officers. DB officials later confirmed the detentions, citing security reasons and the need to question them about recent violence. The incident has raised concerns among activists and family members.
