Rare Burmese Red Serow seen in Baraiyadhala National Park
A study in Bangladesh’s Baraiyadhala National Park has documented 25 photo events of the rare Burmese Red Serow, a goat-antelope species. Researchers used camera traps to observe the animals, identifying 4 females and 11 males. The park is considered crucial for the species’ survival in Bangladesh. However, threats like forest fires, unregulated tourism, and hunting endanger the population. Experts call for immediate conservation measures, including habitat protection and community awareness campaigns. Daily Star
