Rushanara Ali appointed as under-secretary of state for housing, communities and local govt

Rushanara Ali, a British-Bangladeshi MP, has been appointed Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State in the UK’s Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government. She’s the second Bangladeshi-origin member in the Labour government cabinet after Tulip Siddiq. Ali won her fifth term representing Bethnal Green and Stepney in the July 4 election.
