Shomi Kaiser resigns from E-cab

Shomi Kaiser, president of E-Commerce Association of Bangladesh (E-CAB), has resigned citing health reasons. She submitted a resignation letter to the executive council, requesting immediate effect. Kaiser, a popular actress in the 1990s, first became E-CAB president in 2018 and was re-elected in 2022. She was expected to run again for the 2024-26 term, but the election scheduled for July 27 has been postponed. E-CAB general secretary Nasima Akhter confirmed Kaiser’s resignation. Dhaka Tribune
