Smuggler held with gold bars worth over Tk 1.6 cr along Satkhira border

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained a smuggler with 11 gold bars at the Bhomra Lakshidari border in Satkhira. The suspect, Zakir Hossain, 31, was caught attempting to smuggle the gold into India. BGB-33 conducted the operation based on a tip-off. The gold bars, weighing about 1.5 kg and valued at Tk 1,60,70,528, were found wrapped in a towel around Hossain’s waist.
