Rashid Khan and Mohammadi, Afghanistan’s cricket stars, have trained with Sunrisers Hyderabad teammates and are ready to play in the first match for the Sunrisers in the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

“I am really happy to be back with the SRH training camp,” Nabi said in a video of their training published by the Sunrisers on Saturday.

Both Rashid and Nabi were quarantined by the Sunrisers ahead of the start of the training camps.

“All the time in bed with nothing to do and suddenly we are back and will join the team,” Nabi said, adding that he is “really happy to prepare me for the upcoming game.”

“Today was a good opportunity for me before the first game,” he said.

Rashid said that the six days in quarantine were “tough” and “we had spent such a time in the Caribbean (cricket league) as well. Had those days again in quarantine.”

He said that he is “happy and quite fresh to be back with the squad.”

“As soon as I came to the grounds, meeting the guys made me totally fresh and my mind fresh,” Rashid said, adding: “I really enjoyed myself. I wanted to just run all around the ground.”

On his batting, Rashid said that “everyone is going to see that I have some fresh bats for this IPL and I am going to use them…”

Sunrisers will face the Royal Challengers Bangalore on Monday night in its first match of the season and the match will kick off at 6:30 pm Afghanistan time.

Both Nabi and Rashid made their IPL debut for the Sunrisers in 2017.

The Chennai Super Kings beat the Mumbai Indians in the opening match of the IPL on Saturday night.

Sunrisers reached the playoffs in the last four seasons of the IPL and this time around as well, according to the report.

Sunrisers won their first and only IPL title in 2016 with David Warner as captain, it said.

The Australian was, however, removed from his post in 2018 due to his ball-tampering ban and replaced by New Zealand’s Kane Williamson. But for IPL 2020, Sunrisers have gone back to Warner as skipper in their quest for a second title, it added.
