Sri Lanka head coach Silverwood resigns for personal reasons

Chris Silverwood has resigned as Sri Lanka’s head coach to spend more time with his family. The 49-year-old Englishman, who took charge in 2022, led the team to an Asia Cup T20 title and a 50-over Asia Cup final. However, Sri Lanka performed poorly in recent World Cups. Silverwood expressed gratitude for his time with Sri Lanka Cricket and cited the challenges of being away from family as the reason for his departure. Former captain Mahela Jayawardene also recently resigned as consultant coach. Reuters
