Sundarbans fire doused after nearly three days: forest official

Firefighters successfully doused the fire that had been raging since May 3 in the Chandpai range of East Sundarbans in Bagerhat, Bangladesh. The fire originated in Latif’s Chila area near Amurbunia patrol post. Efforts to contain the blaze were hindered by the lack of nearby water sources and the thick layer of leaves in the mangrove forest.
