Travel ban issued on ex-Padma Bank chairman Nafeez Sarafat over graft allegations

A Dhaka court has imposed a travel ban on Chowdhury Nafeez Sarafat, former chairman of Padma Bank, amid corruption allegations. The Anti-Corruption Commission is investigating claims that he illegally acquired money through power abuse and bribery, allegedly laundering funds to Canada. Sarafat, who resigned in January citing health reasons, is accused of embezzling Tk 800 crore from the stock market and seizing control of the bank.READ FULL
