Trial over Maradona’s death postponed until 2025

The trial of eight health workers accused of “homicide by negligence” in Diego Maradona’s death has been postponed again, now set for March 11, 2025. Originally scheduled for June 2024, then October 2024, the trial was delayed at the request of three defendants. Maradona, Argentina’s 1986 World Cup-winning captain, died in November 2020 at 60 from heart failure after brain surgery. The accused, including Maradona’s neurosurgeon, psychologist, psychiatrist, and nurses, face potential prison sentences of 8 to 25 years if convicted.READ FULL
