Turkey halts all trade with Israel, cites worsening Palestinian situation

By Redoy K

Turkey has stopped all exports and imports to and from Israel, citing the “worsening humanitarian tragedy” in Palestinian territories. The Turkish trade ministry stated, “Export and import transactions related to Israel have been stopped, covering all products.” This move comes after Turkey previously imposed trade restrictions on Israel over its offensive on Gaza. The two countries had a trade volume of $6.8 billion in 2023. Israel’s foreign minister accused Turkish President Erdogan of disregarding trade agreements and Turkish interests, vowing to find alternatives to trade with Turkey. Photo: Reuters
