Vessel catches fire after blast in Karnaphuli River

A fire erupted on the BSC vessel ‘Banglar Jyoti’ at Patenga, Chattogram, following an explosion around 11 am Thursday. The ship, docked at Eastern Refinery’s Dolphin Jetty, was carrying petroleum. Eight fire service units, along with Coast Guard, Navy, and Eastern Refinery teams, are battling the blaze. All crew members were safely evacuated, but the fire remains uncontrolled.
