World’s largest private firms fail to set climate targets: report

By Redoy K

Only 40 of the world’s 100 largest private firms have set net-zero carbon emissions targets, lagging behind public companies, according to a report by Net Zero Tracker. The lack of market pressure and regulation is cited as the reason for the slow uptake. However, with upcoming regulations in the EU and other regions, private firms will face increasing pressure to take action on climate change and set credible emissions reduction plans. Photo: Reuters
